Out of the Picture

Shots were taken along the beach alley of La Union. It was such a good chance of escaping the city. What a dazzling weekend, it was.

I have stumbled upon this peculiar DVD that was placed under my Slurpee tumblr. It's the 2011 flick titled, "Midnight in Paris". First thought: An Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams film, and yes, you can never go wrong with Rachel McAdams. An impromptu movie night happened together with my laptop and zebra blanket. It was such a sweet movie about Paris and its magic. I was inspired to vent stuffs about my world and my other half's world.

In this movie as I quote IMDB,

"In the case of this marvelous movie, its impact is fully realized, as we see our protagonist suddenly realize that he has the opportunity to face that which he truly admires, treasures, and dreams about. In the opening scenes, he expresses his desire to settle in the city of lights, and we know it's not going to be an easy thing to do. His girlfriend and he are quite different in their appreciation of what being in Paris means. She understands it's special, maybe from an aristocrat's point of view. He might be looking at it, as the dream place for an artist to find aspiration to fulfill his artistic goals."

We always have different appreciations, beliefs, and thoughts to some minor and major stuff that we've seen, realized, and mulled over. We argue things of what we think what’s right, and sometimes, things can get crazy, and things just can’t get by. I’ve been meaning to know the grounds behind these fights, and the only thing that always pops into my head is that, our world is different.

I live in photographs with grains, white bed sheets, dead roses, pearls, raspberry tea, sweet wines, black frames, laces, ribbons, literature, philosophy, films, white grasses, baby breaths, fairy lights, sunbeams, explosion of hues, escapes, feathers, tribal prints, and self-freedom.

He lives in technology, sports, booze, codes, cars, tv series, and anime.

We are very different yet we love each other.

How do you define love? I define love as holding on to your principles, but keen to step out of your comfort zone just for your better half.

Respect and acceptance of differences will never go out of the picture.

DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

We, beauty junkies know that, to be able to achieve that super PUURRRFECT lips for Matte Lipsticks is to maintain your lèvres. Stumbled upon this DIY Sugar Lip Scrub via {  http://honestlywtf.com } earlier, and yes, It literally made my day. I will definitely try this next week! I'll keep you posted! :)

You’ll need:

  • pure coconut oil
  • honey
  • brown sugar
  • a teaspoon
  • a tablespoon
  • a mixing bowl
  • an empty jar or 2.5 oz baby food jar
  • labels (optional)
Make sure that the coconut oil is solid enough to scoop up but soft enough for a spoon to dig in. If the coconut oil is too oily, stick it in the fridge for 10-20 minutes. If the coconut oil is too hard, place it into a sink filled with hot water for 5-10 minutes or until soft. Combine one well-rounded tablespoon of coconut oil with one tablespoon of honey into the bowl. Besides smelling and tasting incredible, coconut oil is actually an amazing natural ingredient for skin and body products. The oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants that moisturize and nourish the skin while honey contains cleansing and healing properties and is a natural binder.
Mix the coconut oil and honey until they bind together. The consistency should look like thick honey-comb honey. Make sure to mash up all of the coconut lumps so that the mixture is clump-free. This will serve as the base of the scrub.
Add two hand packed teaspoons of brown sugar and fold it into the base. Brown sugar not only tastes fantastic, it is also a great natural exfoliant because it’s not too harsh and leaves skin soft to the touch. All of the brown sugar should be coated in the coconut oil and honey base.
Add one teaspoon of just the oil from coconut oil jar into the bowl. This will help smooth out the mixture and make the scrub extra moisturizing. Transfer the scrub from the bowl into a small jar or container.
The edible scrub will last up to 2 weeks if refrigerated. Before using, allow the scrub to stand at room temperature for a good 10 minutes so that the formula softens a bit. Apply scrub to lips in small, circular motions for 1-2 minutes and rinse off with a warm washcloth. Congratulations – you are now armed with a soft, moisturized, and plump pout. Pucker up! xx, Sarah.

Mangyan Immersion Experience

Hello, Manila! It's so good to be back after 7 days of being away. SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED IN 7 days. Let me file that with the use of bullets! :
  • Nostalgia every time I smell the sea. Sea and all of its parts are my childhood. The smell, the sound of the waves, the white foam thingy, and yes, the breeze.
  • Our hidden kubo and the adventures of bringing alcohol up to the monastery. Legit, bro.
  • Calapan Market : Cleanliest market I've ever seen in my life.
  • JayJay, the baby malnourished pig. :D
  • Filipino food by yours truly : Grilled stuffed Tilapia, Grilled Liempo, Pinakbet, Pork Adobo, Pork Sinigang, Sopas. Group mates were all happy and never hungry :-)
  • Sneaky acts
  • Everyday trip to Batis. Above all the dirt, mud, and animals' poop, none of our afternoon sprees were wasted.
  • Invisible KARAOKE.
  • The HARDWORK of making the coals fire.
  • Stories and bonding before capping the night, always a chuckle worthy.
  • Nature. Overflowing wonders of NATURE.
Pleasingly immersed. :-)
