Sorry for the long hiatus. I'm really having a hard time of getting inspired these days. I guess a few photo catch-up will do, yea? Okay then :-)

Yours truly, at the back seat, on our way to Total Gas Station. You see, it's a gas station at with a few tables and chairs for you to just chill with your friends and of course, beer. It was also the "Salubong" night of Mugey for his birthday, too bad he was so drunk, he wasn't able to join us. :-)

We spent the night showering our opinions over our friend, Joki. He was so doomed about everything that has been happening to him and to his girl. Apparently, he didn't listen to to our advises so we just laugh the night off.

Lazy Wednesday. I have those days, those lazy days, where I shut down and just not move at all. I already mentioned a lot of times on my previous blogs that maybe, I was meant to be a jet setter *slash* traveler if chances want me to. I think it's just me who doesn't want to settle in one place. I am a happy gypsy by heart and soul. I jump places to another, I feel like I'm a feather, lightweight, laid back, a go with the flow type of person. I have a wide range of tastes in Arts, Music, and Places. I love Freedom as much as you all do, but I have the greater intentions. :-)

BTW, before I end this post, I'll be gone for a week. We'll be having this Immersion thing in Mindoro, and we all have to experience life without civilization. I'm scared because I might cry of discomfort. I'm EXCITED as well because I can't remember the last time I hugged a tree and this immersion is indeed, a lovely opportunity. :-)

Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.

1. iPhone 4 / Samsung Galaxy S2

As some of you know, I got mugged a couple of months ago. I lost my bag with my iPhone 4 in it. I had it for like a month when it got stolen. I was really devastated of what happened. And for the thieves? May you rot in hell. I just don't get why some people refuse to work hard, they think that the best idea to keep their family live are by stealing and robbing. I don't know if it's the same thing but y'all know the drift. May you and your family rot in hell. Sorry, I'm just pissed of everything they did to me.

Mugey is a gadget enthusiast, he told me that Samsung Galaxy s2 has the best features like iPhone 4 plus the 2MP Secondary camera. I researched about it, and got amazed because they also have the white version. It's just getting harder and harder to choose between the two.

2. Canon G12 / Nikon J1

I love my Nikon D5, but sometimes in a small get together with friends, I just carry a small purse. Obviously, my Nikon D5 won't fit in my purse that I had to carry it all through the day. It's just so heavy and big for a small occasion. For the love of God, can I have these two for Christmas? Pink Point and Shoot Nikon is too lovely while the Canon G12 is too cool to handle. I'd love to have both of these. Please.

3. Marc Jacobs' Daisy Perfume

I'm currently on my 4th bottle of D&G Light Blue and I want to upgrade my scent to Marc Jacobs' Daisy. My mom wasn't able to send me this perfume last summer because she forgot to mention it to her friend who always go to France just to buy perfumes. She got me a light blue again instead. From a simple, light, and powdery scent to sultry, sexy, and flowery smell.

4. Sephora's Perfect Pink Brush Set

I had my first set of makeup brush two years ago. It was a gift from Mugey for the Valentines. My Mary Kay brush set has already reached its cusp, and I think it's the right time to buy a new set next year! Excited!

5. Dolce and Gabbana Lace Platform Pumps

BRB. Going to file this shoes under "Impossible-shoes-to-own" folder.

I happily spent my post 20th birthday celebration at Corniche Cafe of Diamond Hotel Manila. I was never a fan of buffets, because as some of you know that I eat like a bird,.. until I experienced Corniche. God, they serve the best of the best. The food was really good. Corniche is located along Roxas Blvd. corner Dr. J. Quintos Street. Diamond Hotel is just along Roxas Boulevard. You won't miss it.

What A Rough Year

Deep realizations, independence, second chances, exploring, drifting away, little things, being treated like a lady, the fireworks of romance, doubts, rolls of tears, shutting down, legit ecstasy, getting hurt over and over again, strobe of lights, and soaring to the paradise of reality. These are best words to remember while ending this year.

Deep Realizations

It's an annual habit. How things get clearer and clearer as you stop asking for some answers.Oh the steepness of the blade of the knife, it pains too much.

Independence

Created as an individual, it is necessary to live your life without letting your other hand land on someone's shoulder. That's the number one rule, never abandon your bubble. Shred the thinnest line of your privacy.

Second Chances

Everybody deserves second chances but not for the same mistake.

Exploring

When things get misplaced, you opt for new sets of visions. You tend to step a little out of your C-zone. Do this not because you're hurt, but because you care for your own good. Never lock yourself into someone's world. Learn the art of exploring.

Drifting Away

Best way to loosen things up by means of closing your eyes as you feel the air rushing through your skin and hair. Let your mind drift and reflect.

Never ignore these things, sooner or later someone will be sick of all of the pure sh*t that it brings.

Being around with your happy friends is viral. One thing that I regret the most was ignoring my friends when I'm in a relationship. I thought I'd be complete whenever I am with my partner, thinking that my partner is also a person who can be my bestfriend, brother, and a lover, but I was wrong, that person can't play all the roles that a bestfriend or a brother can do. It's just different. Don't lose your friends because someday, they will the first one to call when a heartbreak happens.

Strobe Lights

The adrenaline rush you feel when the lights hit you. I had that moment when my friends and I went to Seventh High in Fort. The unforgettable green and silver lights while raising my hand up in the air. Amazing.

Soaring To The Paradise of Reality

It hurts to know that I'm just a kid who longs for a place to call home, the one who needs a pint of care of a parent, the one who doesn't want to be treated like a trash, the one who needs to be loved more, and the one who always calls of justice.

Welcome to Soderno! The newest lifestyle market in the South! Just like Mercato, it serves the best great tasting unique dishes and pastries, beautifully cooked by home chefs and bakers! Mugey and I decided to experience Soderno on its first day. As expected, the place was jam-packed and some stalls were not occupied yet. I had fun catching up with South friends! Indeed, a fun, food filled night again to remember! Can't wait to go back!

Things Will Never Go Wrong

It's 12:26AM on my clock and I finally decided to blog about our anniversary. Let me tell you one thing straight, all the the things that occurred on our 730th day were not planned at all. We had our first plan which was to go on a trip somewhere North, like Vigan or Ilocos Norte. That was the first plan. Second plan was kind of similar but different place, we wanted to go to Boracay and stay there for a couple of days. So obviously, all those things didn't happen, because of the lack of preparation, count the money issues in! (hehe) and yes, the weather. Y'all know guys, weather here in Manila is way worst than a girl having her period. Unpredictable and ANNOYING. So we just thought of cheap things that are picture and money worthy. "Kuripot" side of us speaks.

We had a little salubong with Mugey's friends at our 4th house, Tides Grill. It's located along Aguirre Ave in BF Homes Paranaque. Just a simple night out with friends and booze.

The next day, we went to Sambo Kujin. A Japanese Buffet located at Eastwood. Upon entering the restaurant. I was definitely in awe as I reluctantly gaze through the rolls of Makis and Sushis. My mouth can't lie with the hunger that I felt that time. I enjoyed our lunch, I was super full and very much contented with the food. As of Mugey, he had this unknown tummy sickness, he wasn't able to finish his second plate of rolls. Too bad for him, but there will always be a next time, aye? haha!

We capped the celebration off with a much needed massage at Ruyifang. Since it's Mugey's first time to get a massage in a spa, we tried their best massage, and it's the Chinese Oil Foot and Body Massage. It was great, calming and indeed a good choice of spa.

I had fun with these unexpected series of events. It just shows that no matter where you go and what you do, as long as you're with your partner, things will never.. EVER go wrong.

DIY Dixie Cup Garland

{Step 1} Carefully cut apart a Dixie cup and smooth it out so it is as flat as possible. Trace the smoothed out cup carefully onto a piece of paper to make your Dixie cup shade template. I had to try and make my template a few separate times until the template wrapped around the cup perfectly so don’t get upset if the first template you trace doesn’t fit over your cup perfectly. Make as many shade cut outs from your scrapbook paper as you will need to cover each individual bulb on your light garland.

{Step 2} Using double sided tape, adhere one end of a shade cover to a Dixie cup. Add another piece of double sided tape to the other end of the cut out and carefully wrap the entire piece around the cup. I tried to slide the edge of my cut out against the lip of the Dixie cup to give the ‘shade’ an as seamless as possible look. Make sure your edges match up and repeat this step until all of your Dixie cups are covered.

Like so!

{Step 3} Using a pencil (or you can just eyeball it) you’ll make an X on the bottoms of the Dixie cups. Then carefully using an Exacto knife you’ll need to cut an X pattern into your cup. This is where the bulbs will poke through and the X needs to be small enough that the cups won’t slip out and fall off. Repeat this step until all of your Dixie cups have slit X’s into the bottoms and then carefully begin popping in each bulb to the bottoms of the cups, stringing along until your garland is covered.

I only made a select number of shades for the purpose of the photos here but you get the idea. And it’s also important to note, that it’s a bit risky to use regular holiday lights for this project; they can get very hot and because of how close they would be to the cups and paper may cause the cups to melt or catch fire. The original project article suggests using LED lights which is great if you can find them with white wiring (I had no such luck)! For the purpose of pretty pictures I used regular lights.

This is too cute! I can't wait to make these dixie cups for my new room. Mom's finally going home from Israel this December. I will FINALLY spend Christmas and New Year with her. No more Christmas blues! I feel like pulling the days already. I wanna see, hug her, and share stories that she missed. I hope we find our permanent house na. I've been longing for my own homey bubble room for over 7 years now. I will never miss this garland for my new room! Promise!

How We Spent The Long Weekend

Long weekend finally arrived and there's only one thing in our minds that we should do during that time... ESCAPE!

We had a 3 days 2 nights trip to the wonderful place called SUBIC. Together with Mugey's family, we happily spent the weekend with FOOD, BOOZE, and a GOOD COMPANY. Let the pictures do the talking! :)

Our Friday routine as a couple includes a movie night in Town or if some plans changes, we watch at movies at home nalang. It's so hard to choose between Praybeyt Benjamin and In Time that it almost took us a day to pick a movie. Y'all know the drill of Vice Ganda when it comes to movies, but how can you ever ignore the tandem of Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried? We watched In Time the day after and yes, I believe that we picked the right movie. In Time is sooooo good. It has too many elements that gives us multiple thoughts on how you value LIFE.

Before heading to the cinemas. We went first to Bench Fix Alabang to get a couple haircut! Haha!

Strolled around the mall then witnessed a dog show for Halloween! Sadly, we missed almost 90% of the show, but there are few dogs that are still chilling at the corners of Paseo!

DIY Fisheye Lens for Point and Shoot Camera

Have you heard of quirky lenses like Fisheye, PopArt, or any Diana F+ related lenses? A friend from my course always tells me that Hidalgo got it all for both Amateur and Professional Photographers. Hidalgo is the haven for us media students. You can find any kind of cameras that the world can offer (exaggeration hihi), Lenses, Tripods, Films, etc. Shopping around Hidalgo is definitely not an easy task. You have to brave the scorching heat of the sun and a pile of shady people before arriving your destination. For those Point and Shoot camera users, I found this DIY Fisheye Lens on Tumblr. This DIY makes a LOT of sense and saves money and effort!

DIY Fisheye Lens for Point and Shoot Camera

This is applicable to digital point and shoot cameras with a retractable lens (so that the fisheye lens can be attached to the camera).

Aside from the camera, you’ll also need the following:

Some strips of aluminum foam (or similar material), plastic clear tape, a pair of scissors

door peephole/viewer similar to the one above (available in most hardware stores)

What to do:

Cut strips of aluminum foam so that each strip can be evenly wrapped around the peephole body.

Start with the strip which has the same width as the peephole.

Do the same to the next layer (with slightly increased width).

And lastly, the third layer.

That’s it. You’re done.

It’s up to you if you want to go further and decorate it or make it look presentable.

Get your camera and try attaching it to the lens.

Note that the layers would depend on the shape of the camera’s retractable lens.

Now, when you’ve attached the lens, this is what you’ll see in your LCD.

Zoom in so that the circle is framed similarly like so:

Then, take your shot.

I'm an MV junkie. I shoot and shoot and edit them with a song that's somehow close to the idea of my video. So here's one of my latest works. It is supposed to be an Adele themed video because of the B&W set. Due to some unknown difficulties, I can't transfer the audio file to the work space. In my surprise, Andrew Belle's In My Veins peacefully jived with my video. Here it goes! :)
